Why we exist
Koraput deserves to be told properly
Odisha's highest peak rises here. So does a 175-metre waterfall on the Machhkund, a Thursday market where the Bonda and Gadaba communities have traded for generations, coffee grown under forest shade, and Kotpad cloth — India's first GI-tagged tribal textile, still dyed by hand with aal root.
Search for any of it online and you find scraps. A blurry photo. A paragraph copied from somewhere else. A phone number that stopped working years ago.
So we write the guide we wish we'd had, run the tours ourselves with guides who grew up on these roads, and help the shops, homestays and weavers here build something of their own online. The people who make Koraput worth visiting should be the ones who benefit when visitors come.

Subha Travellogue is our founder's Instagram project, and for a lot of people in and around Koraput it is the face they already recognise. It shows the district the way the people who live here see it — the places, the markets, the seasons and the craft.
That is where the trust came from. Nothing on this site was written by someone who flew in for a weekend. It is the same eye, the same roads and the same relationships — now put to work for travellers who want a real trip, and for local businesses who want to be found.
